‘Negative Nothing’ means that a person is so far in the hole, that it’s difficult to get out.
I have a friend that called me. She was crying because her heart was so full of gratitude because of all the people that stood with her and helped to get her where she is today. But she wasn’t always at that point. In fact, there was a time that she was at negative nothing.
She had no car, no driver’s license, was homeless, and had her children taken away by the state. It wasn’t just that her and her husband didn’t have all of these things, but they didn’t have God. So, when you don’t have God, even if you have all those things, you’re still at negative nothing.
I want to read something from God’s Word today and it’s from Proverbs 2:3-11. This is a promise you can actually hold on to.
“If you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as hidden treasures, then you’ll understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice, and watching over the way of his saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path; for wisdom will come into your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you”
When you find God, the desires of your heart changes.
Let’s put it this way. If I gave you a pickaxe and shovel, and I told you that in your backyard, there was enough gold, silver and money to keep you going for the rest of your life. Not just for you, but for your kids. That they would live high on the hog for the rest of their life. What about their kids or grandkids? There’s enough there for that too. What about the next generation? There’s enough for that too. What if I told you that if you believe God’s Word, it will take care of you for the rest of your life. It says to seek for it as hidden treasure.
God’s Word is more valuable than any of the things that you want in life. God will take care of you. He will take care of your children and their children. When you seek after Him, the desires of your heart changes.
So that is moving from negative nothing to EVERYTHING!
It’s not a trick. It’s not for the weak. God’s Word actually works.
